Jeep Cj7 1984 Description

The time has come to list my 1984 Jeep CJ7 for sale. I have a lot of history with this Jeep and under better circumstances I would probably never sell it. I have owned it since 2004. I drove it for about 4 years until I parked it in 2008 with about 67,000 original miles on the odometer. By the summer of 2014 I was ready to start on a frame off restoration. Over the next few months I disassembled every nut and bolt and the parts again sat around for about a year. In April 2015 I set a goal for myself to have it complete by October 2015.

Over these 6 months I went from a rusty frame to a fully restored Jeep CJ7. It was an amazing transformation and one of my proudest accomplishments. I hope to find an owner who will appreciate it as much as I do.

Every part of this Jeep was replaced or rebuilt including all nuts and bolts. I am not going to attempt to list everything that was replaced because literally everything is new. I do have receipts for everything for any prospective buyers to review.

My plans with this Jeep was a restoration. It is not a meticulous OEM restoration, but instead all parts are the highest quality I could find. While I did not want a highly modified vehicle, some of the parts are aftermarket upgrades with a focus on improving drivability and reliability.

It started with the frame. I had it powder coated in satin black. The bumper and everything else that attaches to the frame was also powder coated at the same time.

The 258ci straight 6 cylinder engine was professionally rebuilt.

Modifications include a Weber 38 carburetor, HEI distributor, Comp 252H cam and Borla headers. The engine is very smooth and drivability is perfect with this combination. It is a big improvement from stock and more reliable as well.

The suspension is oem. The heavy duty springs were disassembled, painted, greased and reassembled with new bushings. The shocks I used are Bilstein hd. Tires are BFGoodrich Mud Terrains in 31x10.5 mounted on 15” wheels.

The jeep was painted in the original Sebring red and looks great. It has a custom Levi interior. I had the front bucket seats covered in the original Levi fabric for increased comfort and safety over the regular low back seats. The door panels on the hard doors are also custom.

Included in the sale is are plenty of extras. The Jeep comes with 3 tops. The hardtop is in excellent condition. The new soft top is made by Bestop and comes with soft doors. It is stored in a padded soft top storage bag. The doors are in padded door bags which can also be used in the summer to store the hard doors. I also have a Bestop bikini top.

Also included is a high lift jack with recovery straps, a hard top hoist, and a bike/roof rack. Another plus is that I still have the original owners manual with service records.

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to come check out the Jeep. My name is Brooks
