Ford's 1968 Mustang GT Edition is on of the most iconic and desirable American muscle cars of all time! Mechanical & Underhood: Freshly rebuilt, Marti Report documented, original J-Code 302-4V V8 engine with the following added components: New roller cam, lifters & rockers arms. Edelbrock Performer aluminium intake manifold topped w/ a new Holley 650CFM carburetor w/ manual choke, new filter & chrome enclosure w/ correct factory stickers. Other NEW engine parts are: long tube headers and gaskets, MSD distributor and coil, Accel hi-temp 8mm wires, spark plugs, and motor mounts, water pump, thermostat, pwr. steering pump and hoses, alternator, fuel pump and lines, and all belts and hoses. This J-Code 302 has less than 3000 miles since being rebuilt. This '68 GT still retains it's original, numbers matching C4 automatic transmission w/ new mount as well as it's factory 3.25 ratio 9" rear end, both also have been completely rebuilt within the last 3000 miles. Rolling stock consists of polished aluminum 15" American Racing Torque Thrust rims wrapped in 215/60R15 Falken tires. This '68 GT was ordered w/ pwr. steering as well as pwr. disc brakes which have been rebuilt front to back. The underhood aspect of this '68 GT is amazing, with everything sorted properly and in factory condition! NEW parts include: Radiator and cap, fan and clutch, fan shroud, red-top battery, battery cables, starter solenoid, voltage regulator, horns, billet hood adjusters, billet battery hold down, hood rubbers, Monte Carlo bar, washer bottle and lines. Paint & Body: This '68 GT Mustang rolled of the San Jose assembly line on Jan 3rd, 1968 and still retains all of it's original sheet metal and shows no signs of abuse or accident damage. Sold from the Eagal Ford Dealership in Stockton, Ca. to it's original owner on Jan 29th,1968 this '68 GT has remained in California since new and it shows. Muscle cars from this era often suffer from harsh weather environments like humidity and road salt that will erode these cars over time. This '68 GT has been spared from damage having been in the Central Valley since new! The radiator support and inner/outer fender aprons are wrinkle free and straight. The trunk drop-offs, quarter panels, rockers, floor and trunk pan are all rust free and in excellent shape. The doors, hood and deck lid open and close with ease and are all rust free. The shock towers, rear frame rails and rear shock mount supports are all in excellent condition. The upper & lower cowl as well as the firewall are in excellent, rust free condition as are the floor supports and torque boxes. That's right! GT Mustangs also received the passenger side torque box usually reserved for convertibles or big block orders. In 2014, this '68 GT was treated to a new, professionally applied paint job. 2 beautiful coats of it's original code 3073-A Sunlit Gold Metallic were applied followed by 2 more coats of clear. The surface was then blocked and buffed out to a laser straight and flat finish that is just stunning. Panel fitment and gaps are excellent and the depth of the finish is even better than the pictures, and just look at the reflections in the pictures! New brightwork as well as new front and rear bumpers and bumper guards really stand out. This '68 Gt also received the following NEW items: Door seals & felts/rubbers, trunk matt, trunk seal, Mustang lettering, reverse light enclosures & gaskets, front and rear side marker lights, GT fog lights, rocker moldings, billet antenna, GT emblems, GT side stripe decals, HID headlights and dual full length 2-1/2" exhaust with large tips. This '68 GT sounds amazing! California black plates really look nice set against the Sunlit Gold Metallic paint! Interior: This '68 GT was ordered w/ factory back interior that now includes the following NEW items: Seats re-foamed and new covers applied, molded carpet, floor matts, billet e-brake handle, billet brake & gas pedals, billet hi-beam switch cover, foot pump rubber, billet door handles, chrome door lock knobs, headliner, sail panels, package tray, dome light, complete gauge cluster and lenses w/ LED lighting, dash pad cover, complete dash face kit, billet turn signal lever and billet window crank handles. There is also a trunk mounted Bazooka powered sub-woofer and a Phoenix Gold R300.4 amplifier. Also included are the factory jack, handle & lug wrench as well as a very nice factory cut trunk mat, and tool bag. This is one beautiful '68 GT Mustang that is in excellent, investment grade condition. A multiple show winner and 1 of only 4766 Mustangs made with the GT package option for 1968!
