Ford Mustang 1987 Description
1987 Mustang GT 5.0 37k Original Miles
This Fox Body has had a unique history. I purchased it in 1998 when it had 6,000 miles on it, from its 2nd owner who picked it up from a dealer. The dealership said it was traded in on a newer Mustang by its original owner. The car was originally ordered with every available option then immediately customized for the car show circuit. Every nut and bolt was chromed, everything under the car was coated or polished, a very 80’s velour interior was added, as well as pinstriping and etched glass. It was a beautiful piece of “nostalgia.”
It’s slowly been making its way into what you see now. Comes with the original seats (with white stitched ponys in the headrests), many extra / stock parts, and all documentation. I have the original window sticker, all manuals, 4” of receipts, all records and history.
This is a fun, ridiculously clean 5.0. You don’t see them like this anymore. It just needs a new owner to finish the interior, throw on a turbo or blower and enjoy it as much as I have. Only selling because I’ve moved onto other projects and rarely have the time to drive it.
New Cervini Hood was just installed with fresh paint. Barely a nick or ding on the entire car. Still smells new. The original hood had a steel non-functioning cowl molded onto it and weighed a ton.
No Rust. Always garaged. Never in rain.

+ and I’m sure an item or 6 I’m forgetting
Since putting in the 3.73 gears I was never able to get the speedo to calibrate correctly. We tried every Ford Motorsport Speedo Gear we could find and were not able to dial it in. It has been reading 30% faster than it is actually going for a few years now, so the mileage on the car is actually a bit lower than what it reads. I’d estimate 25k or so, and it shows accordingly.
Also available, if interested, Crow 5-Pt Cam-Lock Gray Belts (2), New in Box
*Had always intended to put a 4-pt Cage in it but never got around to it
This is the first car I ever purchased, growing up loving Fox Bodies. Conflicted to be selling for sure, but very much looking forward to the next respectful Fox fan to breathe new enthusiasm into her.
No trades. In no hurry to sell and will hold out until she finds the right new owner.
Price is firm.
