Dodge Challenger 1974 Description
1974 Challenger Rallye, 360, 4 speed and 8 3/4 sure grip with 323 gears. This car was a 318 4 barrel car with a 727 torqueflite when new. Not many 1974 Challengers were built in 1974 since it was only a half year production and even less Rallye cars were built, this Challenger was built mid April making it one of the very last. This is a very rare GE7 burnished red car (beautiful color) also so you can look long and hard and not find this color. It is a very well optioned car and has only 72,000 original miles on it. This car came from BC originally (built for Canada) and went to Oregon after, where I purchased it so it has never seen salt and the body is excellent! When I bought this car my plan was to keep it as stock looking as possible. Here are the list of options and a lot of things (listed as new) I have added in the last year and a half.360 cu. in LA with J heads 4 barrel V8 (correct year) (rebuilt new comp cam, lifters, springs etc. with stock Mopar adjustable rockers runs like new)4 Speed (833 close ratio) same as T/A’s and AAR Cuda’s 1970323 Sure Grip 8 ¾ rear end (correct)New Mcleod flywheelNew Mcleod diaphragm clutchAll new parts associated with the 4 speed conversion, bell housing, peddles, Z bar, bearings etc. etc. purchased from Brewers PerfomanceFront disk brakes / drums rearHeavy duty front and rear stabilizer bars factoryNew motor mounts, trans mount and all new U jointsNew power steering gear boxNew power steering pumpNew alternatorNew Mopar mini starterNew batteryNew Fire Core distributorNew electronic ignitionNew Edelbrock carbNew aluminum radiator (runs cool)New high volume water pump, timing chain, gears etc. when changing camNew high output headlight harness (twice as bright headlights and dash lights)New 1970 bumpers and brackets to tuck the bumpers inNew 1970 hood blackout and 1974 side strobe stripesNew 1970 Go Wing (high quality factory specs, not the cheap one)New vinyl top when car was restored before I bought itNew 15 inch Rally wheels, rings and caps (15X7 front and 15X8 rear)New BF Goodrich 60 series tiresNew Legendary front seat upholstery, rear seat still excellent factory conditionNew carpetNew Hurst pistol grip shifterNewly restored 1970 wood grain steering wheel (no cracks before)Weather striping and other seals replaced when restoredNew Alpine 150 Watt Channel Amp (With RCA Ipod or Phone Jack Hookup all hidden)New Kicker 6X9 100 Watt Speakers (sounds great!)Original AM radio still in the dash and works with front speakerEverything works on the car and it looks and drivesawesome, no surprises. I took it to shows last year and won 7 out of 9 times, 2 best Mopars, best Ebody at Mopars on the Mississippi 3 state, first in pony car class, top 30, top 40 and Judges choice. In a line up people go right to this Challenger because it is different and they walk right by the plum crazy cars etc to look at it and that tells it for me. All this Challenger needs is someone to drive it and enjoy it. I'm only selling it to buy another Mopar. Since the car is listed for sale locally I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
