The Best 1962 Chevrolet Corvette 'Fuelie' in the United States
Rosner Motorsports is thrilled to present for sale possibly the nicest restored 1962 Corvettes 'Fuelies' around.
If the Corvette of 1961 was good, the 1962 model was great; and still is. For the final production year for the C1, solid rear-axel series of the Corvette, styling was dramatically updated. With the elimination of two-tone paint and trim surrounding the body coves, the 1962 body style was, and still is considered the best of the C1s. The car was among the hottest seller of the generation with over 14,000 built at a base price of more the $4,000. Only 1,918 Corvettes were built In 1962 with the 327ci. fuel injected motor, of which only 350 were built with power convertible tops.
This vehicle features the legendary, top of the marque (RPO 582) 327 cubic-inch, Fuel-Injected V8 Engine that produces 360hp. This was the most powerful and useable engine option of its time with its proven Rochester mechanical fuel-injection system. The engine is mated to a 4-Speed manual transmission that goes into each gear smoothly and without drama.
Continuing with its 'optioned-up' presentation, this restored Ermine White fuel-injected Corvette is appointed with a black interior and a white convertible top that is power-operated. Only 350 cars were built with a power operated convertible top (RPO 473) at an original cost of 139.90 and only 40 cars built optioned this particular way. The original, optional hardtop is also included with the vehicle. Optional extras also include a Wonder Bar AM radio, Whitewall Tires, interior clock, and standard spinner hubcaps.
This example is regularly regarded as the finest restored 1962 Fuel Injected Corvette in existence today.
