Chevrolet Corvette 1969 Description
I have recently purchased this 1969 Corvette T-Top Coupe from an owner in Clinton, S. This car is serial Number 194373S718134. It is a 427ci/390hp, speed vehicle with power steering, ower brakes and factory air. Chevrolet made 38762 Corvettes in 1969 with 22129 being coupes and 10531 with this particular engine. Those cars that were all power and air were much rarer. It has the original posi-traction rear end. The engine number matches the chassis with a number of 0225LM199718134. We have cranked the car and the engine runs smooth. The car goes into gear and moves, ut the brake bleeders are rounded off so that we cannot bleed the brakes to have functional brakes to be able to drive the car.
The prior owner owned the car for 12 years and the owner prior to that owned it for about 10 years. Those owners feel that the car was always a Southern car. During that ownership time it was stored mainly under cover. There is surface rust underneath the car as the photos show but we see no rust through. The photos of the ‘birdcage’ shows surface rust but no rust through. There is some fiberglass damage that can be seen from the back side of some panels but this appears to be minor. That is, here shows to be no major collision damage.
Some of the parts off the car are gone. The original intake manifold, riginal exhaust manifolds, /C compressor and brackets, riginal air cleaner, nd spare tire and carrier are gone as well as two of the wheel center caps. The glass is all there and in acceptable condition but the removable rear window is in bad shape.
This is a rare car that will need a complete restoration. A similar number 1 vehicle has an average selling price of $60000 (per Hemmings Muscle Machines, ovember 2015, age 86). Please advise any questions. The car is located in Madison, S located just north of the intersection of I-20 and I-55. Please direct any questions to Mike Martin at 601-906-1196 or to [email protected]. The car is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the process at any time. We have a clear Mississippi Title for the car. We prefer any purchase funds to be sent via bank wire transfer.
