1979 Chevrolet Silverado CREWCAB pickup truck
This truck has loads of collectability, investment value, and room for your family. It is comfortable, practical, and stylish. Plus, it definitely won’t break the bank. It’s powered by a strong healthy 454 and has the ability to carry a camper, pull your boat, or haul an RV trailer. The air conditioning functions nicely, and best of all….
This truck has only 58,410 miles (documented)
We are letting this truck go with NO RESERVE. Please understand, that’s a big decision. Only thing I ask is that you, as the buyer, please be considerate of our request for a simple and easy transaction.
I will be upfront and straightforward with my description. As I am typing this, I have our laptop positioned on the tailgate, and am walking around the truck. Here are the discernible flaws:
- There are 2 chips in the paint on the driver’s box side, about 1/4” in size.
- There are 2 small “pencil-line” scratches behind the driver’s rear wheel opening, near the rear bumper, about 3” in length.
- The metal strip the runs along the rear edge of the hood, near the cowl, has a plastic coating that appears discoloured from age and UV exposure.
- The outside of the tailgate has small scratches that may, or may not, buff out. The paint on the inside of the tailgate is very scratched up.
- There is a small rust bubble behind the one wheel opening, at the very lower edge. It covers an area of less than the size of a couple AA batteries and has not broken through the paint. This rust spot hasn’t changed in size or appearance in a very long time, and appears to be stagnant.
- The driver’s door interior pull strap has two plastic covers that have come loose. I have removed them, so they don’t get lost, and placed them in the glove compartment.
- There are speakers in the lower carpeted area on both front doors. New carpet pieces can be ordered from LMC truck.
- The plastic grill insert appears somewhat aged and the faux chrome trim has dulled a degree.
- There is a small indentation on the front bumper. This is difficult to see, except when standing in just the right light, at just the right angle.
- The flat-black divider bars between the quarter vent and side windows have some scratching and chips.
- The black anti-slip tape on the running boards is beginning to lift slightly from the edges.
Yes… I realize some of these things are pretty petty for the time it takes to read through. Still, I feel they should be mentioned.
Overall, this is a super gorgeous, great looking unit. It runs and drives excellent. Everything functions exactly as should. It generates tons of compliments, and is just a pleasure. It’s a simple no-excuses, excellent truck, in a dazzling color combination that really catches the light nicely on sunny days. It has become somewhat rare to find these configuration square-body pickups, and is this one’s truly a standout with it’s remarkably low mileage.
About 10 years ago, we bought a top-of-the-line Pace American 30 foot enclosed car-hauler trailer. This truck is parked with that trailer and we haven’t driven either more than maybe 250 miles total. Previous to our ownership, this was a 1-owner pickup. It was used only during the summer months to carry a camper for family holidays.
PLEASE NOTE:
The truck comes with all 4 original tires/wheels. I personally like the look of the aluminum mags, and it matches some of our other classic vehicles, but realize that not everyone shares that preference. If you would like the mags, please add $1500 to the final sale price of the auction and they will be included.
SHIPPING/DELIVERY:
I’d say that, in our experience, most (maybe 75%) American destinations fall between the 15-hundred to 2-thousand dollar range. To play safe, please budget for at least that amount. We are running an unreserved auction so, the savings should help offset any shipping/delivery costs. Please also note that, as mentioned, my wife has become pretty adept at making all the arrangements so you get your vehicle as quickly as can be.
Titling and/or registrationEverything is perfectly transferrable and will be signed over and taken care of for you immediately following the sale. It is free to travel without restriction and titling is universal. The only extra cost is a $120-150 customs brokerage fee. My wife has everything ready to go for the truck, and will only need your information filled in, once the sale is completed, to finalize the ownership.
I’m happy to answer any inquiries, so feel free to write. I welcome and encourage anyone’s questions. We welcome 3rd party inspections, and encourage them. As well, we invite anyone wishing to see in person and will happily accommodate. If you’d like to speak over the phone, please let me know and we’ll arrange a call. Good communication is pivotal to a happy transaction. If you prefer to email me directly, write to [email protected]
Procedure is very important and we have a perfect little system that has proven very simple and effective in making everyone happy. It goes as follows: Immediately following the sale, I will ask for your buyer’s information. My wife will fill in all the paperwork and title transfer. That will be scanned and sent to you. Once received, you validate the information as correct and confirm. Then, my wife sends the banking transfer information. After payment is received, she arranges transportation/delivery. Simple as that.

IT IS YOUR BEST RESOURCE.
Each and every one is for a 30-60 year old car or truck.
You’ll see that nobody is just “happy”.
Everyone is OVERJOYED.
