Chevrolet El Camino 1959 Description
Most All Of Our Auctions End Early Call Us For A Great Price 865 988 8088Up for sale we have a 1959 Chevy El Camino. In ’59 Chevy came out with the El Camino to comete with the Ford Ranchero. It was built on the wagon floor mat and they all had the Bel Air trim with the Biscayne Interior. Chevy said it was the first steel Bed Pick up they Offered. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior interior and heartbeat of the Chevy but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned operated and own our entire inventory no consignments and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 50 to 60 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So that’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information pictures or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of the El Camino. The body is straight and covered in Tuxedo Black that is accented by the Red inlay in the side stainless. When you look at the fit of the panels it all looks good. The side stainless looks good as well as the window trim. All the glass looks good with the side glass working as it should. When you look at the chrome it all looks good. Just not new. At the time of the repaint new weather stripping was installed. When you look inside the bed it’s solid with no signs of any damage to the inner wheel wells or floor. The final exterior touch is the set of 18” and 20” Amercain Racing Wheels.
Next we will take a look at the interior of the ’59. On the inside you will see that it is all new. It has the black vinyl seats with Red Hounds Tooth inserts that flows perfectly with the exterior scheme. The door panels are also done the same way. The carpet is also new and done in black. When you look at the dash you can see that it was repainted to match the exterior and looks correct down to the factory AM radio.
Finally we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood it’s powered by a 283 V8 that looks as it would have in ’59. The trans was updated to a Saginaw 4 Speed. Under the hood is nice with the stain black inner fenders and firewall. This ’59 has factory Power Steering and the Brakes were changed to Power with disc on the front. When you look under this Chevy the floor pans look solid and good for its age.
This was the first year for the El Camino and there was only around 22K built with not many of them left around.
