Chevrolet Chevelle 1966 Description

This is a great car. I am the second owner of the car. I know the full history of this car. The car was originally owned by a family friend. I grew up with this Chevelle and seeing it driving around town. The car has been garaged 90% of it’s life. It is a fun car to drive and the majority of the car is original. The car is being sold AS IS. I am happy to answer all your questions about the car.
Drive Train
The drive train is a 194 Straight Six. This engine has around 1000 miles on it. The engine was bought new and put in the car 10 years ago. Because it has not been driven much in the last 10 years, it seems that a seal has dried out and has small oil leak. The engine starts and runs very smooth, has plenty of power and makes the car fun to drive.
In addition, it get’s between 20-22 miles per gallon!!!
It has new Glass Pack giving the car a good sound (not a V-8 sound but a good sound).
It is due for new tires. The alignment is straight. These are the original Rally Wheels. I have the original caps for them as well
The transmission was the original “3 on the tree.” It has been converted to floor shifter and is still the original 3 speed. It drives smooth and has no signs of clutch wear. The transmission shifts smoothly and is fun to drive. The speedometer needs an adapter to plug into the transmission. Currently it is not plugged into the transmission.
Interior:
The seat and carpet are new and the interior repainted and refinished.
The floor boards are in good condition. They are strong and do not have any signs of rust. They have been treated, painted for rust prevention. Due to the car being garaged 90% of it’s life, the floor pans are in good condition. The car has sound deadening underneath the carpet and pad.
There are some small fixes that need on interior including heater control, horn cap, and radio not hooked up. All the interior and dash lights work.
Exterior:
The Chevelle has never been wrecked.
The car is the original blue. The frame is straight. It has been painted twice over the course of it’s life. The blue doesn’t have any oxidation. The Chevelle needs both paint and body. From a distance, the car looks great.
It has some small pressure dents on roof. The Chevelle has rust in quarters, rockers and front fender. These are all replaceable patches. The trunk also has rust that has requires patching and strengthening.
As mentioned the car is being sold AS IS. It is not perfect but it is a great start to leave as is or do whatever you want to do with. It is a car that you also know the history on.
No solicitors. I dont need to sell the car therefore wont be accepting low ball offers. 10,500 obo.Feel free to contact me at [email protected] with more questions.
