PURCHASER TO RECEIVE: A MARINA BLUE CODE F-F ON BLUE NUMBERS MATCHING 1966 CHEVELLE SS 396 RARE "EDH CODE" (NOT ED CODE) L35 BIG BLOCK CAR 138 VIN WITH BUCKETS, CONSOLE, AND 4-SPEED M20 WIDE RATIO ON 12-BOLT 3:31 POSI REAR END. INCLUDED WITH SALE OF CAR IS NCRS SHIPPING DATA REPORT, WINDOW STICKER, CERTIFICATE FROM THE OFFICIAL CHEVELLE REGISTRY WHERE THIS CAR'S VIN IS LISTED, AND ORIGINAL 50 YEAR OLD INTERNAL GM TRIM SHEET REMOVED FROM UNDER PASSENGER SIDE CHAIR THAT WAS PLACED THEIR BY THE GM LINE WORKER IN 1966. THIS CHEVELLE IS OPTIONED WITH POWER BRAKES (MANY WERE NOT), HARRISON HEAVY DUTY RADIATOR WITH CLUTCH FAN AND SHROWD AND AM/FM RADIO WITH FRONT MOUNT ANTENNA.
RARE TRIM TAG CODE 731B W/ TWO-TONE BLUE SEATS:
THE TRIM TAG ON THIS CAR SHOWS TRIM CODE 731B FOR MEDIUM BRIGHT BLUE AND DARK BRIGHT BLUE WITH BUCKET SEATS THAT ARE TWO TONE. THIS 731B TRIM CODE IS VERY RARE FOR A BIG BLOCK SS CAR. DALE MACINTOSH CHEVELLE EXPERT AND AUTHOR OF CHEVELLE DATA AND ID GUIDE AND OTHER CHEVELLE BOOKS, OWNER OF CHEVELLESTUFF.NET, AND MODERATOR OF THE CHEVELLE REGISTRY HAS PUBLISHED:
"Likewise the 731 trim code is shown available in both the Malibu and SS396 sport coupes and convertibles. Also note description of "Med. Bright Blue" and "Dk. Bright Blue" as opposed to simply "Dk. Blue" and "Med. Blue" of the combination above. As with trim code 729, no SS396 series has been found with this two-tone combination."
731 ~ Dk. Bright Blue, Med. Bright Blue Imitation Leather (1)
13817-67 also depicted in Chevrolet parts manual as a two-tone combination but has not been seen in a two-tone combination in any SS396 to date) - [12,542]"
THIS MAY BE THE ONLY 1966 CHEVELLE SS 396 #138 VIN BIG BLOCK CAR THAT GM PRODUCED WITH THIS SPECIAL INTERIOR OPTION 731B ON TRIM TAG WITH TWO TONE BLUE INTERIOR. IT WAS OFFERED IN 1966, BUT NOT SEEN OR FOUND BY THE CHEVELLE REGISTRY ON ANY SS 138 VIN CARS UNTIL THIS CAR WAS FOUND. I WOULD SAY THIS CAR WOULD MAKE A GREAT MUSEUM PIECE OR A SPECIAL CAR FOR A COLLECTION, ALL THINGS CONSIDERED!
I WAS CONTACTED BY BARRET JACKSON ON THIS CAR. THEIR OUTREACH CONSIGNMENT SPECIALIST SAID TO ME: "This is a Barrett-Jackson level car. Please call me if you want to learn more about our June auction in Connecticut at the. Mohegan Sun Casino."
IN 2016 AND 2017 SIMILAR SS396 CARS HAVE SOLD AT AUCTION IN L35 COUPE AND L34 COUPLE AT DALLAS, TX AND KISSIMMEE, FL FOR $57,000 AND $58,000 RESPECTIVELY, AND WERE NOT UNIQUE CARS IN THE SENSE THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THIS RARE TRIM TAG CODE AND TWO-TONE INTERIOR PACKAGE. I SUSPECT THE SS396 CHEVELLE WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE IN VALUE OVER TIME, SURELY A MUCH BETTER INVESTMENT THAN BUYING A MODERN MUSCLE CAR OR A MUSCLE CAR THAT IS LOADED WITH INCORRECT NON-ORIGINAL LOOKING COMPONENTS, I.E. "PRO TOURING/RESTOMOD" OR "PRO STREET".
BACKGROUND ON CAR:
I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON BETTERING THIS CAR FOR MANY MONTHS. IT WAS ALREADY VERY NICE WHEN I PURCHASED IT (SURVIVOR CAR) WITH WHAT APPEARED TO BE ORIGINAL LACQUER PAINT IN MANY AREAS OF THE CAR, BUT IN PAST FEW MONTHS I HAD ENTIRE CAR REPAINTED IN CORRECT COLOR IN VERY EXPENSIVE STANDOX PAINT AND TOLD THE HIGHLY QUALIFIED BODY SHOP THAT CAR HAD TO BE RAZOR STRAIGHT AND FACTORY COLO, ENGINE AND TRANS FULL REBUILD, AND MUCH MORE. TRUNK COMPARTMENT FULLY DETAILED WITH CORRECT BLACK AQUA SPATTER AND ENGINE BAY FULLY DETAILED. CORRECT ENGINE BAY, TRUNK, GLOVE BOX AND SUSPENSION STICKERS AND DECALS FOR 1966. CARS FLOOR BOARDS AND UNDER CARRIAGE FULLY RUST PROOFED AND DETAILED! SPARE GM RIM PAINTED MARINA BLUE AND TIRE ARE INCLUDED WITH THE SALE OF THE CAR ALONG WITH THE CORRECT BLACK AND GREY CROWS FEET TRUNK MAT.
FURTHERMORE, THIS CAR HAS THE GM #3866948 HOLLEY HIGH RISE INTAKE (HOLLEY CAST INTO THE INTAKE BY GM) AND HOLLEY 4-BARREL 3139 LIST CARBURETOR ON THE L35 396 ENGINE, NOT QUADRAJET. EDH BLOCK STAMPING FOR HOLLEY. YOU WILL NOT FIND THIS ON 1967 OR LATER CHEVELLE L35 ENGINES OR 1966 CALIFORNIA BUILT CARS, ONLY A LIMITED GROUP OF 1966 L35 CHEVELLE CARS RECEIVED BLOCK STAMPING "EDH". THE ENGINE BLOCK WAS STAMPED WITH AN EXTRA THREE DIGIT CODE, IN THIS CASE THE "H" AS A DESIGNATION THAT THIS ENGINE WAS TO RECEIVE HOLLEY INTAKE AND CARBURETOR LIKE THE HIGHER L78 375HP CAR, NOT THE ROCHESTER QUADRAJET THAT ONE NORMALLY SEES ON MOST L35 AND OTHER LOWER HORSEPOWER 396 ENGINES.
SO HERE IS A LOT MORE INFORMATION ON THIS CAR:
IT IS A TRUE SS #138 VIN. IN MANY WAYS THIS CAR IS A SURVIVOR CAR. ODOMETER SHOWS 72,000 MILES AND AN EXPERT WHO LOOKED AT THE CAR TOLD ME HE THINKS THIS MILEAGE IN RELATION TO THE CAR'S INTERIOR AND OTHER INDICATORS LOOKS RIGHT. MOST OF THE CAR IS FACTORY DATED ORIGINAL SHEET METAL--I AM TOLD THE CAR DOES STILL HAVE BOTH GM UPPER QUARTER PANELS WITH FACTORY GM STAMPING AND THE FACTORY WELDS NEAR TRUNK RUBBER THAT PEOPLE LIKE TO SEE. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT CAR HAS FACTORY HEADLINER, DOOR PANELS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, AND MANY OTHER SURVIVOR QUALITIES. WHEELS ARE GM DATED WITH THE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND GM 65 STAMPING BEHIND THE GM (NOT REPRODUCTION) DOG DISH "POVERTY" WHEEL CAPS (ONE YEAR ONLY HUB CAP FOR 1966), AND THE TIRES ARE NOS RED-LINE, NOT COKER REPRODUCTION. IT APPEARS THE CAR HAS ORIGINAL TRUCK PAN AND FLOOR BOARDS, DOORS, FENDERS, AND UPPER QUARTERS ETC, AND MOST IF NOT ALL THE ORIGINAL WINDOW GLASS LOF DATED JA (MAY 1966). THIS CAR HAS THE CORRECT HEAD LIGHT BEZELS FOR 1966 SS396 THAT ARE BLACKED OUT IN THE CENTER, UNLIKE MOST 1966 SS396 CARS YOU WILL SEE ADVERTISED FOR SALE! THIS CAR HAS DATED REAR TAIL LIGHT LENS 1966, ETC!
I FOUND A GM TRIM SHEET TAG UNDER THE DRIVERS CHAIR, IT APPEARS THE CAR STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL SEAT COVERS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. SAME GOES FOR PACKAGE TRAY, DASH PAD, SEAT BELTS, ETC. THE PRIOR OWNER HAS GIVEN STATED THAT THE ONLY CHANGE THAT WAS MADE TO THE INTERIOR (WHATSOEVER) DURING HIS LONG-TIME OWNERSHIP WAS NEW CARPET. I AM TOLD BY AN EXPERIENCED INTERIOR RESTORATION PERSON THAT IF THE SEATS HAD BEEN RECOVERED THE TRIM SHEET UNDER THE PASSENGER CHAIR WOULD HAVE LIKELY BEEN LOST AS THE BURLAP AND SPRINGS WOULD HAVE BEEN DISTURBED CAUSING IT TO FALL OUT AND/OR BE THROWN AWAY. THIS 50 YEAR OLD TRIM SHEET THAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE CAR I WAS TOLD BY A PUBLISHED CHEVELLE EXPERT THAT:
"These were often attached to the seats when they were doneand, if they couldn't be seen at final inspection, managed to stay put. Some
plants put job numbers on the trim tags to track it, some did not."
THIS CAR WAS ORIGINALLY DELIVERED TO KEN BENDER MOTORS INC IN CAMBRIDGE, OHIO. THE GM OFFICIAL PRODUCTION DATE WAS 06/10/1966. I BOUGHT FROM A HOBBYIST (ALSO IN OHIO) WHO HAD THE CAR FOR AROUND 15 YEARS AND TOOK IT TO CRUISE SHOWS. CAR IS A 06B (ASSEMBLED JUNE 1966 2ND WEEK) AND IT WAS BUILT BY GM AT ATLANTA. PAINT AND INTERIOR ARE CORRECT MATCHING TRIM TAG F-F MARINA BLUE WITH RARE HIGH OPTION SPECIAL BEAUTIFUL BLUE TWO TONE INTERIOR PACKAGE FROM GM 731B BUCKET SEATS WITH MEDALLIONS AND DELUXE SEAT BEATS / DELUXE INTERIOR HIGH OPTION CAR. POWER BRAKES, ORIGINAL KNEE KNOCKER TACH, CLOCK IN CENTER CONSOLE AND FACTORY DASH PANEL WITH FACTORY VOLT GAUGE, ENGINE TEMP, OIL PRESSURE, ETC RPO U14. THE BUMPERS APPEAR TO BE GM RECHROMED, NOT REPRODUCTION.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
MANY DAYS OF HARD WORK HAVE BEEN PUT INTO THE MECHANICS ON THIS CAR--GOES DOWN THE ROAD STRAIGHT AND HANDLES NICELY--BRAKES DO NOT PULL OR PULSATE. RETAINS CORRECT 4-WHEEL POWER DRUM BRAKES CORRECT FOR 1966, AND THE CAR BRAKES AND STOPS VERY WELL. BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATES WHEN PARK BRAKE IS SET, FUEL GAUGE, VOLT GAUGE, OIL PRESSURE, AND ENGINE TEMP GAUGE IS FUNCTIONAL. SPEEDOMETER WORKS. INTERIOR LIGHTS WORK WHEN DOORS ARE OPENED. ENGINE AND TRANS WERE FULLY REBUILT WITHIN THE LAST MONTH OR SO (NEW PISTONS, CAM, LIFTERS, STAINLESS VALVES, RINGS, BEARINGS, ETC). CLUTCH RECENTLY REPLACED ALONG WITH BRAKES, BRAKE LINES, MASTER CYLINDER, BRAKE BOOSTER. RECENTLY REPLACED FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM. NEW EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE AND SYSTEM. NEW FUEL TANK AND SENDER. CLUTCH AND LINKAGE RODS PROFESSIONALLY ADJUSTED! THE GUY WHO ADJUSTS THE CLUTCH AND SHIFT ROD LINKAGE ON THESE MUNCIES FOR ME IS ONE OF THE BEST. NO CLUTCH CHATTER, DIFFICULTY PUTTING IN TO GEAR OR HARD SHIFTING ON THIS CAR--SHIFTS AND ENGAGES SMOOTHLY AND QUIETLY! MUNCIE WAS TAKEN DOWN TO BARE CASE AND WENT THROUGH TOP TO BOTTOM! NO WORE OUT SYNCHROS OR WORE OUT GEARS. REMANUFACURED DRIVE SHAFT AND NO U-JOINT NOISE, VIBRATION, OR CLANKING. STEERING BOX WORM GEAR IS ADJUSTED NICE AND TIGHT ON THIS CAR SO STEERING WHEEL IS NOT SLOPPY.
THE CAR WAS BLOCK SANDED FOR MANY DAYS BEFORE ENTIRE CAR WAS PAINTED FOR NICE CRISP BODY LINES. BUMPERS, TRIM, LIGHTS, DOOR LOCKS, DOOR HANDLES, TRUNK, HOOD, ETC WERE ALL PULLED FOR BODY PREP AND PAINTING. EVEN STEERING WHEEL WAS PULLED AND PAINTED IN SAME STANDOX LIKE CARS EXTERIOR AND BAKED IN BOOTH. MULTIPLE DAYS WERE SPENT ALIGNING DOORS, FENDERS, HOOD, AND TRUNK FOR THOSE BETTER THAN FACTORY GAPS EVERYONE WANTS. DOOR PINS, STRIKERS, ETC ADJUSTED SO DOORS SHUT CRISP AND TIGHT WITHOUT HAVING TO SLAM THEM.
WHILE ENGINE IS NEARLY PUT BACK JUST HOW IT ROLLED OFF LINE AND IS NUMBERS MATCHING AND DATE CODED, I DID INSTALL 450HP LS6 CAMSHAFT IN THE ENGINE AND WE DID A FULL MULTI-ANGLE COMPETITION VALVE JOB CUTTING FOR LARGER 2.190/1.880 STAINLESS HIGH FLOW VALVES. THE VALVE SEATS WERE UNSHROWED IN THE CHAMBERS AND VALVE BOWLS BLENDED. TORQUE PLATES WERE USED TO HONE THE BLOCK WITH THREE DIFFERENT STONES AND HASTINGS PLAMA MOLY RINGS WERE INSTALLED ON SEALED POWER/TRW FORGED PISTON PART NUMBERL2240NF60 WITH A 21CC DOME. STATIC COMPRESSION RATIO WAS RAISED SLIGHTLY FROM THE FACTORY SPEC OF 10.25:1 TO 10.7:1 SO THE LS6 CAMSHAFT AND LARGER STAINLESS VALVES WORK TOGETHER IN HARMONY FOR ADDED POWER AND PERFORMANCE. THE CAR RUNS WELL ON PREMIUM PUMP GASOLINE, AND DOES NOT REQUIRE RACE GAS! THE GM #6223 FACTORY FORGED (NOT CAST) CRANKSHAFT WAS BALANCED FINELY TO PRECISION RACE TOLERANCE ON OUR DIGITAL BALANCER DOWN TO ZERO GRAMS ON EACH END PROVIDING FOR A SMOOTHER, HIGHER REVING MORE POWERFUL ENGINE AND LONGER ENGINE BEARING LIFE. MOST OEM ENGINES ARE OFF 20 GRAMS OR MORE ON EACH END IN THEIR FINAL BALANCE! 1968 AND LATER 396 L35 ENGINES DID NOT RECEIVE FROM GM EITHER THE GOOD FORGED PISTONS OR GOOD FORGED CRANKSHAFT LIKE THE 1966 CHEVELLE RECEIVED WITH L35 ENGINE OPTION, NOR THE HOLLEY 4-BARREL CARBURETOR AS MENTIONED.
THE LARGE OVAL GM #3872702 CLOSED CHAMBER HEADS THAT ARE CORRECT FOR THIS CAR IN CASTING NUMBER AND DATE CODE ARE GOOD HEADS. THEY ARE THE LARGE OVER PORT HEADS FOR HIGH FLOW (NOT SMALL PEANUT PORT LOW HORSEPOWER HEADS), AND THE SMALLEST COMBUSTION CHAMBER GM EVER PRODUCED FOR A BIG BLOCK ENGINE (98CC) FOR HIGHER COMPRESSION RATIO AND MORE POWER. THIS WAS THE SECOND YEAR FOR THE NEW 396 REPLACING THE 409 WHEN GM WAS COMPETING FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE WITH OTHER CAR MANUFACTURERSAND NOT HINDERED BY EMISSION LAWS OR GASOLINE MANDATES! DO NOT CONFUSE THESE LARGE OVAL PORT SMALL CHAMBER HEADS WITH THE LATER SMALL PEANUT PORT LARGE CHAMBER HEADS OF THE 1970'S AND BEYOND! THESE HEADS WILL OUTPERFORM THE L78 RECTANGULAR PORT HEADS IN BOTH TORQUE AND HORSEPOWER AT LOWER ENGINE SPEEDS NORMALLY OPERATED AT ON THE STREET, WITHOUT THE LAG OF THE SQUARE PORT HEAD WHEN PAIRED WITH A BIG DURATION CAMSHAFT! THESE LARGE OVAL WHEN FLOW BENCH TESTED FLOW AROUND 275CFMBEFORECOMPETITIONVALVE JOB AND LARGER VALVES. IN THE STOCK FORMAT, THESE #702 CASTING HEADS WILL SUPPORT UP-TO 550 HORSEPOWERNATURALLY ASPIRATED WITH CORRECT CAMSHAFT, CARBURETOR MODIFICATION, AND ENOUGH COMPRESSION RATIO! THE RULE OF THUMB IS TO DOUBLE THE CFM FLOW FOR MAX POWER CAPABILITY.
IT WAS MENTIONED WHEN ENGINE WAS BEING OVERHAULED THAT LS6 450HP CAMSHAFT WAS INSTALLED FOR BETTER SOUND AND GREATER POWER AND RPM PERFORMANCE. THE CAM WAS A SPECIALGRIND CAM TO DUPLICATE THE 1970 LS6 450HP CHEVELLE CAM, BUT ON MODERN CAM LOBES SO THAT ONE CAN RUN A HYDRAULIC LIFTER. SO WHILE THE CAM HAS THAT GREAT SOUND AND INCREASED PERFORMANCE OF THE LS6, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LASH THE VALVES OR PERFORM REGULAR ADJUSTMENT. NEW CRIMPER NUTS WERE USED ON GM FACTORY ROCKER ARMS SO TO AVOID RISK OF ROCKER NUTS BACKING OFF LIKE THEY DO MANY TIMES IF REUSED.
THE CAMSHAFT WAS BROKEN IN WITH ZINC ADDICTIVE AND THE ENGINE HAS RECEIVED ZINC WITH EACH OIL CHANGE AFTER BREAK-IN TO PROLONG THE LIFE OF THE FLAT TAPPET CAMSHAFT. A .039 THICK HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPOSITE HEAD GASKET WAS USED. CYLINDER BORE WAS HONED TO 4.159 AND PISTONS AT GAUGE POINT MEASURED 4.155. PISTON TO WALL CLEARANCE SET AT .004, RING END GAP SET AT +/- .018, CRANK END PLAY SET AT .005, ROD SIDE CLEARANCE SET AT +/- .020. OIL BEARING CLEARANCE SET AT +/- .002 RODS AND .0025 MAINS. CRANKSHAFT WAS MICRO-POLISHED ON OUR LATHE BEFORE INSTALLING IN BLOCK, MELLING OIL PUMP WAS HAND CALIBRATED FOR PREMIUM FLOW AND PRESSURE AND STEEL PINNED INTERMEDIATE SHAFT USED TO DRIVE OIL PUMP. A HEAVY DUTY TRUE DOUBLE ROLLER TIMING CHAIN WAS USED AND PREMIUM KING PERFORMANCE ENGINE BEARINGS!
THE PERSON I HAD GO THROUGH THE MUNCIE HAS BEEN BUILDING MUNCIES FOR AROUND 40 YEARS AND IS ONE OF THE BEST IN COUNTRY. ALSO, IGNITION TIMING ON ENGINE HAS BEEN SET TO OPTIMAL SETTING FOR PERFORMANCE AND EASY STARTING AND SHUTTING OFF OF THE ENGINE. THE 1966 HOLLEY 4-BARREL CARBURETOR WAS TAKEN DOWN TO BARE MAIN BODY DURING SAME TIME AS ENGINE AS TRANS WERE REBUILT AND CARBURETOR WAS FULLY REBUILT BY AN OLD HOLLEY GUY WHO HAS BEEN WORKING ON HOLLEYS FOR DECADES. IT WAS REASSEMBLED WITH #66 JET, 6.5 POWER VALVE, NEW SEALS AND GASKETS AND WAS CLEANED IN SPECIAL HOLLEY CHEMICAL PROCESS. WHO EVER BUYS THIS CAR WILL LIKELY BE THRILLED WITH THE WAY THE LS6 450HP CAM SOUNDS THROUGH THE EXHAUST--YOU ARE IN FOR A TREAT! CAM PULLS GOOD VACUUM AT IDLE AND POWER BRAKES WORK WELL. AGAIN, THE EDH SUFFIX CODE L35 396 ENGINE RECEIVED A HOLLEY 4-BARREL INTAKE (NOT QUADRAJET) AND A SPECIAL GM/HOLLEY HIGH RISE INTAKE (SAME GM PART NUMBER INTAKE AS THE 1966 427 390HP CORVETTE RECEIVED) MAKING FOR A HOTTER ENGINE THAN OTHER MODEL YEAR CHEVELLES WITH L35 BIG BLOCK 396 ENGINE.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HAVE LESS THAN 200 ODOMETER MILES ON THEM SINCE RESTORATION AND BLUE PRINTING, AND THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 200 MILES SINCE THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR WAS PROFESSIONALLY PAINTED IN STANDOX. STANDOX PAINT IS RECOMMENDED BY LEADING OEM CAR MANUFACTURERS WORLD-WIDE AS A VERY HIGH QUALITY AUTOMOTIVE PAINT AND STANDOX SPECIALIZES IN PROVIDING MODERN AND EFFICIENT HIGH GLOSS PAINT SYSTEMS THAT ARE IDEALLY SUITED TO REFINISHING CLASSIC CARS. STANDOX USES A IQ SPECTROPHOTOMETER MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE A MODERN PAINT TECHNOLOGY THAT IS FAITHFUL TO THE ORIGINAL COLOR. YOU SHOULD SEE HOW THIS HIGH GLOSS PAINT LOOKS WHEN SUN SHINES ON IT BRINGING THE METALLIC OUT--WHAT A SIGHT! THE NEW NOS REDLINE TIRES ALSO HAVE LESS THAN 200 MILES ON THEM (NEW OLD STOCK, NOT REPRODUCTION). TIRES WERE STORED FOR MANY YEARS IN CLIMATE CONTROLLED BUILDING FOR A MORE CORRECT RESTORATION THAN THE COKER REPRODUCTION REDLINE TIRES.

The one word description for #1 vehicles is "concours."

#2 vehicles could win a local or regional show. They can be former #1 vehicles that have been driven or have aged. Seasoned observers will have to look closely for flaws, but will be able to find some not seen by the general public. The paint, chrome, glass and finishes will all appear as excellent. No excessive smoke will be seen on startup, no unusual noises will emanate from the engine. The vehicle will drive as a new vehicle of its era would. DISCLAIMER: THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS WITHOUT WARRANTY. ITS IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION IN PERSON BY APPOINTMENT. I GUARANTEE NOTHING AS "ORIGINAL" OR "BORN TO THE CAR". WHILE IT APPEARS THIS CAR HAS A LOT OF "ORIGINAL" ATTRIBUTES, MANY PARTS WERE TAKEN OFF OF THESE OLD CARS OVER THE DECADES AND REPLACED AND/OR MODIFIED FOR VARIOUS REASONS. ONE COULD HAVE TEN ORIGINAL BUILD SHEETS FOR THEIR CAR SHOWING OPTIONS AND STILL CANNOT PROVE THAT ALL OR MOST OF THEIR CAR IS "ORIGINAL" OR THAT ALL OR MOST OF THE PARTS ARE "BORN" INSTALLED BY GM DECADES AGO. JUST BECAUSE A CAR HAS THE CORRECT DATE CODED PART NUMBER PART ON IT WHETHER IT BE A TIRE WHEEL OR AN ENGINE PULLEY, ETC THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW WITH COMPLETE CERTAINTY IF IT IS TRULY "ORIGINAL" OR "BORN TO THE CAR". MOST IF NOT ALL OF THESE OLD CARS DO NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL AIR IN THE TIRES SO TO SPEAK. THOSE OF US WHO ENJOY AND CARE FOR THESE OLD CARS WHO APPRECIATE "ORIGINALITY" DO THE BEST WE CAN TO RETAIN WHAT WE CAN AND TO CORRECT WHAT WE KNOW OR LEARN IS INCORRECT FOR THE CAR. AGAIN, THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS WITHOUT WARRANTY WITH NOTHING GUARANTEED AS "ORIGINAL" OR "BORN TO THE CAR". I HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO GIVE ANY POTENTIAL BUYER LOTS OF INFORMATION ON THE CAR AS TO ITS PRESENT CONDITION AND STATUS HERE AND NOW IN 2017, ALONG WITH SOME GOOD HISTORY ON THE CAR AND RESEARCH DATA TO ITS PRESENT OPTIONS AND FEATURES. WHILE IT APPEARS THAT 72,000 ARE ORIGINAL ACTUAL MILEAGE ON ODOMETER, STATE LAW REQUIRES TITLE TO SHOW VEHICLES OF THIS AGE AS "EXEMPT" MILEAGE ON TITLE, CAR IS BEING SOLD AS MILEAGE EXEMPT WITH NO GUARANTEE TO ACTUAL MILEAGE. $2000 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF PURCHASE AGREEMENT, AND REMAINING BALANCE DUE WITHIN 7 BUSINESS DAYS.
