Up for sale we have a 1970 Chevy Camaro Resto Mod. This Camaro has had over $200K spent on the build. It features an Art Morrison Frame, LS Power, and a lot of custom work. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and heartbeat of the Chevy, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of the Camaro. The body was stripped to bare metal and then the custom work began. Up front it's fitted with a one-piece glass fender and nose with a custom front spoiler. They kept the split bumper look with new bumpers down the sides. The lowered rocker panels were custom done to cover the Morrison Frame. You'll see that she's slick down the side with the door handles shaved with a set of poppers added to open. Out back it has a one off Rear Spoiler and changed the round tail lights to a set of '69 Camaro. The rear bumper was cut and tucked to fit the lines of the car. Also the trunk lock was removed for a slick finish and installed a hidden release. The body is covered in the Rally Red Paint that had many coats laid down top and bottom. It has had hours spent buffing and polishing the body as well as buffing the floor pans. New glass and trim was also added. To finish off the look it's sitting on a set of 19" Budnik Wheels with Michelin Tires.
Next, we will take a look on the inside of the '70. The interior is custom as well. The seats are done with Hounds Tooth Covers on low back buckets with a matching custom rear seat. The dash and console is all custom made. It has Electronic Instruments. Also it has center mounted AC controls with the touch screen radio and a Lokar shifter housed in the custom console. The power window switches are also in the console and doors open via the poppers control on the key pod.
Finally, we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. This is where you are sure to gain a real appreciation for what this car has to offer. Under the hood it's all custom with a slick firewall and inner fenders with a custom one off radiator cover. The engine is a new GM 430HP LS3 crate motor with a 12621766 Casting Number. It's mated to a new 4L60 Automatic Trans and out back is a 9" Ford Rear End. The wiring is all new as well as the computer system. The heat and AC is from Vintage. When you look under this beauty the frame is built by Art Morrison. Up front it has Vette Upper and Lower Controls Arms along with Rack and Pinon Power Steering. Also, it has Ride Tech Coilovers all around as well as 4 Wheel Wilwood Disc Brakes with Drilled and Slotted Rotors. Out back the 9" is held in by a 4 Link System. The fuel tank is a one off handmade tank. The exhaust flows through long tube headers with flow master mufflers and runs through cutouts in the frame to give it more ground clearance.
