Buick Riviera 1972 Description
You are viewing a very rare 1972 Buick Riviera GS with a Stage 1 455 cubic inch V8 (confirmed in person by a National Riviera judge). I will be adding more photographs and information (I have all receipts dating back to March of 1976) in the next few days. I will also tell the full story of how I acquired this beautiful car. Its a story I will be telling for years to come. and you'll understand why when you've heard it. Here are some highlights on this very special car: GS Performance package (only 2. 71 produced in 1972. Fewer with the Stage 1 motor) Stage 1 455 cu in V8 confirmed by a national Riviera judge Automatic transmission Original posi rear end Previous owner purchased in 1976. I have paperwork back to that purchase date. Equipped with power windows. seats. A/C. am/fm stereo. cruise Both engine and transmission have been rebuilt. The engine shows wonderful oil pressure and temperature. The transmission shifts beautifully Starts. runs and drive beautifully Seats are in near perfect condition. No rips. ears or any visible wear. Carpet is beautiful. door panels and armrests are in excellent condition Vinyl top is in great shape Trunk very original. rust-free and appears to be untouched. All matting and trim intact The paint. if not original. is decades old and shows extremely well I have owned and collected classic cars for the last 26 years. beginning with the 1969 Dodge Charger I bought when I was sixteen. and which I still own today. I still own my 2nd car as well. a 1983 Pontiac Trans Am. which I drove from my senior year in high school through to my second year of graduate school in the department of English at the University of Central Florida in Winter Park. FL. So my passion for classic cars -- and especially Mopars -- has been a lifelong pursuit and is about the most fun I can imagine having. I am an Oxford-educated motorhead that's been car crazy since bell bottoms were in style the first time around. And because I love to find. own. drive and collect all kinds of classic cars. there comes a point when I have to sell a few of them to keep my collection manageable. or else they all don't get exercised like they should. This is one of those times. My collection has expanded to about two dozen cars. when really. if I am totally honest with myself. I should get it down to about twelve so that I have the time to drive and enjoy them all. I am a firm believer that cars should and need to be driven. And when I can't drive them all enough. I go through the painful process of letting a few of them go on to new owners that will hopefully get out there and drive them more than I have time to. This is the reason I am proudly offering my 1972 Buick Riviera GS for sale to its next proud owner. Both the engine and transmission have been rebuilt during its lifetime and both function very nicely. It is an extremely strong-running and powerful car. with the GS upgrades giving an extra punch to that big 455 V8. The A/C is not working at the moment. but as soon as we get a spot of good weather here I plan to take it to the garage to have it renewed. so plan on having nice. cold A/C in this beautiful car when it arrives. This Riviera is a substantially original example of one of the most stunning designs in automotive history. I've included a link to about 200 additional photos and I will be adding more when the opportunity arises. And if you have a cool classic car that you think I might be interested in. let me know. maybe we can work something out that will get us both into something new and different to enjoy. Here is a nice video of the car idling beautifully: http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=YdJkUzXK8KU And many more photos: https://www. flickr. com/photos/97286492@N06/sets/72157648937416985/ I added some engine photos!! Here are the items I've just double-checked personally as of December 6th and are all working very nicely: side mirror adjuster. ashtray light. nbsp;side dome lights. footwell light. seatbelt warning light. nbsp;dash lights. speedometer. stereo. taillights. license plate light. nbsp;side marker lights (front and rear). headlights (low/hi beam). signal lights (inc. fender indicators). heater. vent and wipers. In short. this is a really wonderful Riviera that is ready to go.
